SVAM Salinas Valley Masters make a big splash at fist Team meet

CONGRATULATIONS

Masters Team SVAM-Salinas Valley Aquatics Masters  competed at the  Pacific Championship Long Course Meters meet in Santa Cruz July 7 - 8, 2007. The SVAM Team ranked 13th out of 44 teams when it was all said and done. The following members participated in this meet representing SVAM for the first time ever as a team:

MCAT Coach Chrissy Pires plced 3rd in the 50 free (32.40), 2nd in the 50 back (37.22), 5th in the 100 free (1:13.34), 5th in the 100 back (1:22.83), 2nd in the 50 br (42.31) and 2nd in the 100 Breast 1:33.50. 

MCAT Board member Matt Best placed 6th in the 200 free with a personal best time of (2:37.48). 

Former SVA Coach Jim Helm placed 3rd in the 50 free with a (27.08). 

Coach Christina Vega placed 6th in the 50 fly (45.63),2nd in the 200 breast (3:32.49), 5th in the 50 back (42.44) and 6th in the 50 free (35.76). 

Coach Pari Shaghaghi 6th in the 50 back (47.88) , 2nd in the 200 back 3:25.33, 3rd in the 100 back (1:36.32)and 5th in the 50 fly (42.31). 

Coach Kristeen Gracia placed 3rd in the 50 fly (35.62), 2nd in the 100 breast (1:37.30), and 2nd in the 50 breast (44.00). 

Justin Recta in his fist US meet ever placed 1st in the 100 back (1:34.07), 3rd in the 100 free (1:14.10), 3rd in the 50 breast (46.30) and 4th in the 50 fly (37.30).
