Mathew Dunston also earned two new B times in the 25 free and the 50 free. The boys rocked the pool. Juliette Leonard swam in her first meet bravely and beautifully. Her breast stoke was extraordinary in technique. It was truly outstanding. Toby Macabugao swam on Saturday earning 4 new best times. His drops were large and a nice surprise. He placed 3rd in the100 fly and 100 IM. The butterfly was most impressive with the 6.19 second drop and a new AAA time. His times will move him way up in the Pacific Swimming rankings.
Genevieve Leonard swam to 3 best times. She dropped 8.86 seconds in the 100 free and swam a courageous 500 free. Jam Macabugao earned 2 new B times in the 50 back and 50 free. She also swam the200 breast in 3:33.39 seconds with no DQ and great form. One month ago Jam could not swim a legal breast stroke because of a scissor kick but worked with absolute determination during practice to have a flawless breast stroke. WOW Geat work Jam!!! Cole Rianda dropped time in all of his races. The 5.60 seconfd drop in the 50 back was the most rewarding of the swims.
Grant Hashimoto swam the 100 free in 49.87 and earned a new BB in the 200 Breast, quite the accomplishment for one who is not a fan of breast stroke, but someone who understands the importance of improving all strokes.
The meet was a very pleasant experience for all who attended. I especially noticed how nicely everyone got along and supported one another. I was impressed with the positive parent support of all the children. Attitude is everything and positive attitude is contageuos. It was nice for this coach to see this going on at the meet. Our team is heading in a great direction, because of the geniune nice people we have on it. Thanks for the great weekend! It is one I will remember.
