Junior Olympics Run Down

Toby Macacbugao 11, Adam Fahmy 14 ,and Grant Hashimoto 16, from the Monterey County Aquatic Team attended the Pacific Swimming LC Junior Olympics in Concord, California July 10-13,2008.  Toby earned 2 Far Western qualifying times in the 100 Fly and the 50 Breast stroke.  Toby has now qualified for 4 events at Far Westerns.  He acheived personal best times at the meet in all races swum.  Adam Fahmy earned 3 new Far Western LC qualifying times in the 50 free,100 fly and 200 free.  Adam also swam personal best times in his entered events.  Grant Hashimoto swam to a 5th place finish at J.O.'s in the 400 free(4:31.18), and 6th in the 200 free (2:06.03).  He dropped time in 4 out of 5 races to earn personal bests.  Grant acheived numerous Far Western qualifying standards and earned a new sectional qualifying time in the 50 free, going (25.93).  This was a great meet for the three boys, as much was learned about sportmanship, race strategy, and championship swimming. All three boys had brilliant swims this weekend.  Adam Fahmy's 50 free was one of the best I have ever seen, Grant Hashimoto swam the perfectly split 400 free in finals and Toby had an inspirational 100 fly.  It was a fantastic Junior Olympics.
