MATT JONES OF SVAM SECURES TOP 10 FOR 2010 in USA

The rankings for the 2009-2010 SCY season are final and our swimmer, Matt Jones (44)of SVAM secured 2 top ten rankings in the Nation for his age group (40-44).  He placed 7th in the USA in the 50 SCY butterfly and ranked 9th in the 100 fly (52.73).   He also ranked 15th in the 50 free going  a 22.15   He swam to  17th over all in the Nation in the 100 free (48.97).  Matt Jones is a true champion masters swimmer placing 1st at the Pacific Masters Championships in 2010 in most of his events.  These top times were swum with a broken rib and a collapsed lung.  I kid you not.

Matt swam for UCLA in the 1980's. UCLA was a NCAA Championship team before the school cancelled their program. He is an All American ranked swimmer in college and in US Masters swimming.

In 2010, Matt provided such a wonderful example to the swimmers of the MCAT USA Swimming Team and SVAM US Masters team .  We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to have him back in the pool soon.

Congratulations-we are very proud of your accomplishments.
