SCCA Meet Results

MCAT swimmers had a very successful and fun meet in Santa Cruz the weekend of September 25-26! There were several swimmers swimming in their first meet as well as experienced ones who attended. During this time of year, the focus is more on technique and aerobic capacity, and I'm pleased to say that there were vast improvements in both areas as well as some very fast swims! Congratulations to everyone on a job well done :-)

Arianne Movilla swam her first 100 backstroke ever and got her JO time!

Amanda Cavazos swam her first 500 free and swam it text book perfect with an A time to boot!

Marisa Rodriguez swam in her first meet, not to mention that her first two events were the 200 free and the 100 fly and she did great!

Sophia Almazan also swam in her first meet and is a new 9 year old. She was very brave and swam the 50 back and did a flip turn even though she had only done them one time at practice and it was perfect!

Jessica Stewart dropped 4 seconds in her 25 backstroke!

Colleen Boensel dropped 3 seconds in her 100fly and 4 in her 200 IM!

Adam Fonseca got 100 percent best times!

Holly Kasten swam in her first USA swim meet and had a fantastic 100 backstroke race!

Mia Ramos had  a great 100 backstroke race solidifying her JO time for short course and dropping 2 seconds!

Amanda Michalski got 2 best times despite being very sore from her cross country meet the day before!

Michael Michalski  got 4 best times, and had a great time racing Adam next to him in the 100 breast stroke (they nearly tied)!

Daniel Cavazos had a great 50 breast stroke race dropping 3 seconds!

Grace Crummey swam in her first meet in almost a year and was in a new age group as well. She had a fantastic 100 freestyle race!

Tara Bolosan had an awesome 50 breast stroke race dropping 2 seconds from her CVAL meet time and is so very close to her A time in that event now.

Andrey Movilla narrowly missed her A time in the 200IM but managed to drop a whopping 10 seconds!

Dennis Wang has gotten best times the last two weekends in a row which at his level is very rare. Congratulations Dennis!

Toby Macabugao had great 200 free and 100 fly races breaking the 00 mark for the first time in both (1:59 in the 200 free and :59 in the 100 fly).

Destinee Campagno had 100% best times, nice job!
