Toby = 100 BR Champion at Pacific Allstars

Toby Macabugao of MCAT's Senior group earned himself a Championship Title at the Pacific Swimming All Star Meet this past weekend.  Here is what the All Star Meet Coach Steve Hurko had to say: "100 Breast. This, based on the entered times was our worst event... at least it was suppose to be. Toby was our fastest entered time and ranked 4th when entered. Again ever swimmer swam great and we scored many points in this event (and yelling "Go Michael... Jordan.. in the second heat was fun), but at the end of the event when Toby beat all of the competition to get 1st place, his smile and fist in the air was a highlight and memory I will keep with me forever. It is this kind of swim and this kind of smile that I coach for."

It doesn't surprise me, as Toby is just one of those swimmers that participates and practice with complete passion.  There truly is nothing more gratifying than this young man's smile when he knows he has done his best. This is what makes coaching kids so much fun. Congratulations Toby!  I wish I had been there to see it(the smile) although I have seen it before.  The race would have been especially nice to see. This coach is so proud!

Sincerely,
