Five MSI Swimmers Earn USA Swimming's Scholastic All-American

Five MSI Swimmers including Warner Russ, Luke Fender, Nan Sheppard, and Rachel McAlpin of MMST and Cody Ano of BEST shined this past year in the classroom and the pool as each earned recognition for USA Swimming's Scholastic All-American. This award is the highest level earned for a HS athlete through USA Swimming and requires swimmers to earn at least one Junior National Championship qualifying time and maintain a 3.5 or greater GPA. Warner is a 2024 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood MS and is currently a freshman at Auburn University. Warner made Summer Nationals in the 50 and 100 free. He also made Winter US Open in the 200 free, 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM.

Luke Fender is a 2024 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland, MS and is currently a freshman at Trinity University. Luke made winter Junior Nationals in the long course 200 free.

Nan Sheppard is a senior at Jackson Preparatory School in Flowood, MS and will be attending University of Arkansas in the fall of 2025. Nan made summer Juniors and Winter US Open in the 100 backstroke.

Rachel McAlpin is a junior from Brandon MS. She will be attending University of Arkansas in the fall of 2026. Rachel achieved a 2024 Olympic Trials qualifying time in the 100 breaststroke.

Cody Ano is a senior from Ocean Springs, MS. Cody achieved a Junior Nationals qualifying time in the 200m breaststroke.
