Sam Ruddy Achieves Junior National Standards at Sectional Championship

            Fifteen of Team Santa Monica's finest athletes completed a success-filled five days of competition at the Summer Gold Sectional Championship in Santa Clarita.

            The group achieved 21 personal best times, highlighted by Sam Ruddy's 6th place finish in the 200m Freestyle.  Sam raced to a time of 1:55.68 in the preliminaries to earn a trip to the Junior National Championships in Irvine this August.  He also achieved a Junior National bonus standard in the 100 Free, covering the distance in 53.30 seconds.  Congratulations, Sam!

            Mr. Ruddy will join teammate Johnny Lait as representatives of Team Santa Monica at the Junior National meet.  Go get 'em, fellas!  Go TSM!
