Junior Olympics Update (Day 2)

TSM ended the second day of Junior Olympic competition in 2nd place in the combined team race, trailing Brea Aquatics by only 42.5 points.

 

There were plenty of great swims at Cal Lutheran University, but Thursday's race of the day belonged to Matthew Chen.  He achieved his first Sectional cut in the 400 IM, finishing with a time of 4:57.46, good enough for 12th place in the Men's 15 & Over event.  Congratulations, Matthew!

 

In other notable performances, Brendan Casey was victorious in the 13-14 Boys 400 IM, Cathy Gomez took 3rd place in the 11-12 Girls 200 Free, Hunter Loncar raced to 3rd place in the 11-12 Boys 50 Breast and Matthew Wu claimed 2nd place in the Men's 15 & Over 400 IM.
