Short Course Junior Nationals Results

The trio of Liliana Casso, Andy Lau and Eugene Tee represented TSM at the Short Course Junior National Championships from December 8-10 at the University of Texas, Austin.

In the Women's events, Miss Casso posted HUGE drops in the longer Freestyle events.  Her time of 16:56.27 in the 1650 Free was a personal best time by 21 seconds, good enough for 16th place in a field of 29 swimmers.  She also posted a personal best time of 4:57.85 in a Time Trial of the 500 Free, a 6 second drop.  Liliana placed 67th in the individual event.

On the Men's side, Mr. Lau excelled in the Individual Medley and Butterfly events.  Andy dropped nearly a second in the 200 IM and almost 2.5 seconds in the 400 IM, turning in performances of 1:53.52 (65th) and 3:58.02 (20th), respectively.  In the 200 Fly, his time of 1:51.43 was a one second improvement and earned him 32nd place.

Mr. Tee threw down some memorable performances in the Individual Medley events.  His time of 1:50.21 in the Prelims of the 200 IM was a 3.5 second drop and his 3:50.74 in the 400 IM trimmed nearly 6.5 seconds off of his previous best time.  Eugene placed 3rd in an extremely competitive 400 IM Final.  He also placed 26th in the 200 Back, dropping almost a second to finish in 1:49.63.  Also noteworthy was his 21st place finish in the 1650 Free (15:41.19).

Congratulations, swimmers!
