Andrew Hacker Wins Silver at Australian Open Water Championships
TSM's Andrew Hacker wore silver after the 17-18 Boys 5K on Sunday at the Australian Open Water Championships in Perth! Fighting back from 10th place in a very physical one hour race to hold the lead until the final 200 meters, Andrew finished in 1:00:37.35 to claim second place in his age group. Only 10 seconds separated finishers 1 through 10! He also raced the 10K nearly 3 minutes faster than his previous best, completing the grueling course in approximately 2hr10min. Congratulations, Andrew!
Sean Steele also performed well in his first 5K, with a time of 1hr9min30sec.
Max Halson competed in both the 10K and the 5K. He used a strong third quarter to finish the 10K in approximately 2hr5min and ended a challenging weekend with a disqualification in the 5K, after some difficulty exiting one of the turns.
Congratulations, boys!
