TEAM SANTA MONICA BECOMES TEAM USA (FOR 3 DAYS)
For 1 week I have the honor of working as a team coach for the USA National Junior Team at the FINA World Junior Open Water Championships here in Canada.
TSM swimmers Lilliana Casso, Jordan Wilimovsky, and Brendan Casey are now a part of Team USA alongside 3 top Mission Viejo swimmers, a swimmer from New Jersey and one from Virginia. We have been training and preparing alongside swimmers from Germany, Russia, South Africa, France, and China as well as some 30 other nations.
There is something special that happens the first time a swimmer earns the right to wear their nation's flag. As you will see in the photos, the pride is palpable. The racing begins tomorrow.
You can watch live here at 6am Los Angeles time for Jordan Friday morning. Lilly swims Saturday morning at the same time and Brendan at 1130am also on Saturday.
