TSM EARNS SILVER TEAM STATUS FOR 2013

Team Santa Monica is pleased to announce that it has, for the second consecutive year, been designated as a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club for 2013. Teams score points towards this honor based on junior national performances and faster. The 2013 standards were the toughest in the program's history. Gold level performances require a world ranking. Swimmers must be 18 and under and eligible to represent the USA.

The focus of USA Swimming's Club Excellence Program is to identify and reward the very best 200 USA Swimming Clubs out of the 2800 plus member teams across 59 LSC's that have attained a high level of athlete performance. 20 teams made Gold plus an additional 3 teams who qualified for 1 year by virtue of placing an 18 and under on the Olympic Team. TSM earned points for 3 Gold level performances but fell short in the overall points ranking. 80 teams qualified for Silver status. An additional 100 clubs qualified for Bronze level.

For 2013, two teams within So Cal Swimming, Mission Viego Nadadores and Aquazot Swim Club in Orange County, were designated Gold Medal Clubs.

TSM joins Irvine Novaquatics, Swim Pasadena and La Mirada Armada as the only Silver Medal Clubs in So Cal.

Several other teams were designated as Bronze Medal Clubs, including Canyons Aquatic, Santa Maria, Lakewood and Rosebowl.

Demonstrating, once again, that TSM continues to be recognized as a leading club on both a local and national level, we congratulate all the club's swimmers and coaches on this outstanding award.
