TSM Strong on Day 1 of U.S. Open Water National Championships

TSM continued to show its strength in the open water during day one of the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships on Castaic Lake, just outside Los Angeles.

During today's 10k race, Jordan Wilimovsky finished in 4th place overall and scored a place on the U.S. National Senior Team. As a result, Wilimovsky will also qualify to represent Team USA at either the World University Games in Moscow or the World Championships in Barcelona.

In addition, TSM placed 3 swimmers on the U.S. National Junior Team as Nick DeVito, Scott Simmer and Liliana Casso also had great swims. In order to qualify for the National Junior Team, DeVito, Simmer and Casso had to place in the top six of under-18 swimmers and also finish within 10 minutes of the overall champion.

On Sunday, Wilimovsky, Simmer and Casso, along with Brendan Casey and Jamie Dodd, will compete in the 5k National Championship.

Please come out and cheer; the lake is only a short 1-hour drive from Santa Monica. The venue was one of the most ideal for viewing the multi-lap course, culminating with a 500-yard sprint parallel to the beach. Both races today were phenomenal finishes, with the women's race having one of the closest finishes ever.

Best of luck to everyone. Go TSM.
