TSM Shines at US Open & US Junior Nationals
Just a little over one week ago, Jordan Wilimovsky placed 14th for Team USA at the World Championships in Barcelona in a field of nearly 40 competitors (among whom 10 were previous World Championship INDIVIDUAL medalists). With no break and 15 hours of flying, Jordan chose to come back to training immediately to prepare to represent TSM at the 2013 US Open Championships.
The competition in Saturday's 800m freestyle included members of both the USA and Australian National Teams. Jordan negative split his race meaning his second half was faster than the first half on his way to an 8:08.4. This time was faster than his lifetime best by over 2 seconds. Jordan went 4:05 his first 400 and an impressive 4:02 his second placing 13th overall.
WELL DONE JORDAN!
At the 2013 USA Swimming Junior Nationals beginning today in Irvine, Scott Simmer improved his best time in his main event by over 9 seconds to place 8th and yet again achieve an Olympic Trials qualifying performance. Scott's 1500m time was a World Top 150 ranked performance earning TSM GOLD Level Club Excellence Points to be counted towards our 2014 total. It should also be pointed out that even though Scott negative split his race, his first 800m split was still a lifetime best and a senior national qualifying standard.
WELL DONE SCOTT!
Also of note; Jordan's USA Junior National Record stood the test of another year of racing with no one bettering his milestone 2012 performance.
