TSM swimmers off to great start at first LC meet of 2014

Notable long course swims from the San Clemente Senior Invite Jan 25-26:

Gillian Caverly was 1 second off her sectional cut in the 800fr (9:31.23) and dropped 2 seconds from her 200bk (2:31.95) and a whole lot from her 1500fr (18:24.83). Jamie Dodd swam a personal best 17:34.19 in her 1500fr, good for a sectional time. She dropped time in both her 200fr (2:15.11) and 200fly (2:34.20) as well. Cathy Gomez bested her 50free (29.28) by a fraction. Ethan Lawrence dropped to within 2 seconds of a sectional cut in the 400fr (4:19.84) and dropped 3 seconds from his best 800fr (9:01.11). JP Mortenson swam personal bests by 7 seconds in the 200fly (2:20.62) and by 4 seconds in the 100fly (1:02.77). Lorien Orpelli swam her fastest 100 free (1:05.87) by 1.5 seconds. Bella Siering achieved a sectional standard with a 9:27.40 800fr (bettering her previous best by 22 seconds), improved her 200bk (2:36.49) and 100fl (1:10.89) times by a second each, and dropped 3.5 seconds from her 200fly (2:27.94). Abby Bergman (1&2 fly) impressed with near-personal bests in season.
