OMEGA Tests Potential Starting Blocks for Olympics at London Test Event

LONDON, UK--A report from "The Australian" newspaper indicates that starting blocks with new features are being tried-out at this week's 2012 British Championships in London, England. The blocks feature side-panel lights that light when the starting system goes off and also can light to indicate the top-3 finishers of a race. The blocks are being tested for potential use at this summer's Olympics; FINA's Technical Swimming Committee reportedly is to review their inclusion in an upcoming meeting.
