Day 2 summary from the XVIIth U.A.N.A. Pan American Junior Men's Championships
Game #11 MEX 4 USA 17
USA’s outside shooting, constant counter attack and tenacious defense was too much to handle by the Mexico team. After a fairly close half time (6-3), United States won the second half 10-1, especially in the fourth quarter when they scored seven goals to none for the Mexicans
United States scored consistently on the extra man and played strong but flawless defense. Daniel Stevens and Reid Chase led the way for USA with 3 goals each.
The USA team will do battle tomorrow against Peru, while Mexico will have a bye.

Game #12 PUR 13 PER 6
Puerto Rico’s constant counter attacks and pressure zone defense was the key for the victory over Peru. By halftime Puerto Rico was ahead by six goals (9-3) and they played a conservative but aggressive second half.
Luis Mojica (#5) from Puerto Rico was key to the victory with five goals. Peru tried in the second half to make a comeback, but Puerto Rico kept matching them with strong defense. Peru plays the United States and Puerto Rico has a tough game against Colombia on tomorrow’s session.

Game #13 ARG 7 VEN 12
Even though the score doesn’t show it, Venezuela and Argentina played a very physical and tight game. Venezuela had to fight for every goal while Argentina kept coming back since the beginning of the game. Venezuela relied mostly on their physical game and good centre post game, while Argentina played mostly from the perimeter
Hugo Velazquez (#4) for Venezuela was pure venom during the whole game. He scored as many goals (7) as did the whole Argentina team. Argentina had a more balanced attack with Tomas Galimbertis (#3) and Tomas Echenique (#6) with two goals apiece.
