US Ambassadors from Athlete Approved Conduct December Swimming Clinic in Fiji
 
Ambassadors from Athlete Approved ( www.athleteapproved.com) Lara Jackson and Bobby Savulich traveled halfway around the world to teach a swimming clinic in Fiji. The duo stressed the importance of proper technique and mind set. Jackson is the current American record holder in the 50 yard freestyle, while Savulich garnered a gold medal at the 2011 World University Games. Their knowledge and skills were shared with the Fijian swimmers and coaches, who are making efforts to bring the country to the next level in swimming.
 
Hailing from The University of Arizona and Michigan respectively, Jackson and Savulich offered unique perspectives to the athletes. Both have been coached by the likes of world-renowned Olympic coaches including Frank Busch, Rick Demont, Jon Urbanchek, Bob Bowman, Mark Hill, and Mike Bottom.
 
The main lesson learned was that if you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten. Swimming is constantly evolving in terms of technique and training methods. Jackson and Savulich imparted their new-aged knowledge to help the country break into the international swimming scene. They also helped the swimmers understand the balance between hard work and having fun. Athlete Approved ideas and products were used to help accomplish this.
 
While our Athlete Consultants were working during most of the week, the Fijians made sure to make time to share their culture as well. Jackson and Savulich specifically enjoyed all night family get-togethers, Fiji time (2 hour leeway), kava drinking circles, eating enormous sums of food, and the beach. The Fiji lifestyle is full of friendship, bonding, and simply enjoying the moment.
