Canada's Pamela Ware edged for bronze at diving Grand Prix
ROSTOCK, Germany – Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., missed a bronze medal by only six points on Saturday finishing fourth on the women’s three-metre springboard at the second stop on the diving Grand Prix circuit.
Han Wang led China to a 1-2 finish with 368.40 points and Jiao Liu was second at 321.40. Maria Elisabetta Marconi of Italy took a three-way battle for bronze at 309.90 followed by Ware at 303.35 and Dolores Hernandes of Mexico at 303.30.
“It was a good day overall,” said Ware, 20. “I dove better today than what I’ve been showing lately. I’m looking for consistency and today I felt I did nine of my 10 dives very well.”
Ware will compete with her sister Carol-Anne Ware in both the three-metre and 10-metre synchro events on Sunday while Maxim Bouchard of St-Constant is entered on men’s tower.
