St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association names 2013 CARIFTA Swim Team
The St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association has named a eight member squad to participate at the 2013 CARIFTA Swimming Championships to be held National Swimming Pool in Kingston Jamaica from 20th March to 3rd April 2013
Coach Jamie Peterkin announced the 8 swimmers:
11-12 Girls Michaela Casimir, Katelin Samuel
13-14 Boys Jyasi Daniel, Mark Emanus
15 - 17 Boys Christian Andrew, Joshua Runako Daniel, Jason Beaubrun, and Anthony Francois

SLASA has deferred sending swimmers to the newly inaugurated 5 km Open Water event, pending a structured series of Open Water events during the next twelve months, and then to consider sending Open Water swimmers to CARIFTA 2014.
Newcomers include the 11 -12 girls Katelin Samuel and Michaela Casimir with Vieux Fort well represented with Mark Emanus and Christian Andrew
Jyasi Daniel makes third appearance alongside brother Runako and is expected to make a good showing in the 50M free and Fly. Jason Beaubrun makes his third time representing St Lucia at CARIFTA and Anthony Francois makes his second appearance
Top medal contender is Joshua Runako Daniel who will be participating in 4 to 6 events and has grown from strength to strength; recently in record breaking form at his high school in USA
