Coughlin, Berens, Adrian in Top Form at Mesa Grand Prix…

Twelve-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin clocked a lifetime best in the 50 meter freestyle, breaking 25 seconds for the first time since 2008 at the Mesa Arena Grand Prix. Her final time was tops among Americans and tied for 5th-best in the world this year. Coughlin also swam to a season-best and top-10 finish in the world in the 100 freestyle. On the men’s side, three-time Olympic medalist Ricky Berens used an explosive final turn to charge home for the win in the 200 freestyle, and Nathan Adrian, one of the best sprinters in the world, dominated the 50 freestyle, posting a time just shy of his season best that has him ranked second in the world.
