Barcelona 2013 to support sustainable transportation with electric bikes

Barcelona, 21 June 2013

In collaboration with the company Cynthia Bikes, the Barcelona 2013 Organizing Committee aims to minimize environmental impact with sustainable solutions, providing electric bikes for transportation at the competition venues. The collaboration agreement forms part of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy of the 15th FINA World Championships, to be held from 19 July to 4 August.

Electric bikes are the new popular alternative option in environmentally friendly transport. During the 15th FINA World Championships, organizers and volunteers can use the eco-friendly bikes as transportation vehicle at the four competition venues: Palau Sant Jordi, Bernat Picornell Pool, Montjuïc Municipal Pool and Moll de la Fusta. Cynthia Bikes will provide Barcelona 2013 with two models, Classic and Runner.

Barcelona 2013 organizers aim to promote environmental awareness, educating everybody involved in the championships (participants, organizers, public, volunteers, sponsors, journalists, etc) about the fragility of our environment and the importance of its protection.
Cynthia Bikes is a young Catalan company with headquarters in Vilobí de Penedés, supporting sustainable transportation with electric bikes.
