CCCAN First for Jordan Augier at 28th Central American and Caribbean Champions
CCCAN FIRST FOR AUGIER
Jordan Augier achieved a swimming first for St Lucia when he captured two medals at the 28th Central American and Caribbean championships (CCCAN) being held in Costa Rica
Augier has become the first male St Lucian swimmer to ever achieve a medal at this level. Swimming in his favored backstroke events Jordan captured a Silver in the 50M Back and Bronze in the 100M back. His 1:02.09 in the 100m and 27.10 in the 50m were also national Records
Not to be outdone, Brad Worrell placed 5th in the 200M Breast establishing a New National Record of 2:40.16. Very gutsy swim for Brad as well as he was 1:12 at the 100m Mark. Brad also swam a National Record in the 100M breast with a time of 1:08.36 and placed 5th in the finals
In the 100M Fly, Runako Daniel took the race out like a champ and was second up until the 75m mark. He tightened up on the finish and dropped to 6th, (difference between 3rd and 6th was less than a second), finishing 6th in a time of 58.77. He had swum a national Record in the preliminaries with a time of 58.36. Runako also picked up a National Record in the 50m Breast with a time of 30.95
