Killman Finishes 10th in Solo Tech at World Championships   

INDIANAPOLIS - Mary Killman (McKinney, Texas/Lindenwood University) swam to a 10th-place finish in solo technical Saturday at the FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.

 

Killman, a 2012 Olympian, scored 87.300 points in the final. She was in ninth place after the prelims with 88.100 points.

 

Russia's Svetlana Romashina, a double gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, won with 96.800 points. China's Xuechen Huang (95.500) won silver and Spain's Ona Carbonell (94.400) won bronze.

 

Team USA's Rebecca Moody (San Jose, Calif./Santa Clara Aquamaids) will compete in the solo free, with the prelim on Monday and the final on Wednesday. Moody, who has twice been appointed to U.S. national teams, won gold medals in duet and team, and silver in solo at the U.S. Junior National Championships in April.
