Jymmi Kaye Demchuk Appointed Interim Executive Director of Water Polo Canada
The president of Water Polo Canada, Conrad Hadubiak is pleased to announce the nomination of Jymmi Kaye Demchuk as Interim Executive Director.
"Jymmi Kaye is a long-serving and universally respected member of the water polo community,” said Hadubiak. “She is the perfect candidate to assist with Water Polo Canada's transition to a new permanent Executive Director following the departure of Ahmed El-Awadi.”
A Saskatchewan native, Demchuk has extensive management experience and specializes in governance and organizational alignment issues. Demchuk has participated in water polo as an athlete, coach, official and club president. She served as the Executive Director of Water Polo Saskatchewan for 16 years prior to assisting Water Polo Canada since 2010 with the implementation of its strategic plan.
“I am excited and honoured to have been offered the position,” said Demchuk. “Our team of staff will carry on the work that has been started and the organization shall not falter while Water Polo Canada is looking for a new Executive Director.”
Jymmi Kaye Demchuk has accepted the responsibility following the resignation of Ahmed El-Awadi who is moving on to a role of CEO with Swimming Canada. During Demchuk’s tenure, a board-selected committee is expected to undergo an extensive executive search to select a candidate for the permanent position
