USA Women Advance To Gold Medal Match Of UANA Youth Pan American Championship With Defeat Of Puerto Rico

Buenos Aires, Argentina - August 30 - The USA Women will play for gold at the UANA Youth Pan American Championship after topping Puerto Rico 23-4. Aria Fischer and Katherine Klass scored five goals apiece while Carlee Kapana and Emalia Eichelberger combined for 10 saves. Team USA will take on Canada tomorrow for the championship. Team USA was in control of the match against Puerto Rico from the start, building a 7-0 lead after the first period. Natalie Seidemann scored three goals in the second period to help push the USA lead to 15-3 as the offense was firing on all cylinders. In the third period Team USA added five more goals to grab a 20-4 lead. In the final quarter Fischer would score twice and the defense blanked Puerto Rico, to come away winners at 23-4.
The United States went 2/4 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties while Puerto Rico went 2/5 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot.
