Toronto sports fans may get a chance to see swimming superstars such as Missy Franklin and Ryan Lochte at the 2015 Pan Am Games after all.
The world aquatics federation has decided to shift the dates of its 2015 championships to make it possible for the best swimmers in the Americas and Caribbean to compete in Toronto.
Mike Fennell, head of the PASO technical committee, made the announcement in Toronto on Thursday.
The Toronto Pan Am Games run July 10-26. The aquatics worlds had been scheduled to begin July 19 in Kazan, Russia. They will now run from July 24-Aug 9. The swimming events at the Pan Am Games will be moved to the earlier dates to give athletes more rest time between the two competitions.
