Report from UANA Open Water Technical Committee Chair Denny Ryther on Grand Cayman OWS Clinics

 

I conducted a FINA Open Water officials clinic during my visit to Grand Cayman from November 4-10.  A total of 34  people attend the four days of classes.  These officials worked the Pirates 5K swim and were able to apply their new skills and the information taught during the clincic.

 

The Cayman Swimming Federation is interested in hosting more International Open Water meets.  I believe they are interested in hosting the Zone 2 Pan American Games Open Water qualifying meet.  

 

While on Grand Cayman I was on TV promoting Open Water as well as participating in a sports documentary on the sport.
