2013 St.Lucia Amateur Swimming Association National Swimming Awards
ST LUCIA SWIMMING CELEBRATES 2013
There were words of praise, advice, and encouragement from the Hon Minister of Youth Development and Sport Shawn Edwards at the 2013 National Swimming Awards ceremony hosted by the St Lucia Amateur Swimming Association on Saturday 8th February 2014.
At the St Lucia Yacht Club venue, the Minister addressed a well attended occasion with many of St Lucia young competitive swimmers and their families and well wishers. In the relaxed atmosphere, he spoke of Swimmings many accomplishments over the years, the support of family and parents, efficiency and role of SLASA and of course the recent cabinet decision to construct the 50m pool at Beausejoir.
In the capable hands of MCs Kyle Ernest and Laura Bruce, the event also had SLASA President Lance Arnold give a short welcoming address to his receptive audience
The vote of thanks was made by Tech VP Jamir Peterkin and was followed by dinner
The accolades and records were dominated by the outstanding performances by swimmers Jordan Augierand Ethan ‘Speedy’Dyke Elliott for the year 2012
