MEMO TO ALL UANA FEDERATIONS
Dear Friends,
We forward herewith VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION and an urgent REQUEST that you report THE NUMBER OF ATHLETES, COACHES, TECHNICAL OFFICIALS and DELEGATION SUPPORT PERSONS your Federation proposes to enter as participants in the 1 Pan American Olympic Festival.
Attached hereto you will find:
1) Invitation by Sport – Pan American Olympic Festival 2014
2) REVISED Conditions of SWIMMING PROGRAMME
a) the number of participants in Swimming has been reduced to four (4) Male Swimmers and four (4) Female Swimmers for each Federation.
The PASO Quota for Swimming is 280 swimmers. If all UANA Federations participate with the maximum eight (8) swimmers UANA would exceed its quota by forty (40 swimmers); however, while we anticipate not all Federations will enter the maximum number UANA does wish to emphasize “Festival” and encourages all our Federations to take this opportunity to participate.
b) the swimming competition is limited to swimmers between the age of sixteen (16) years and nineteen (19) years.
c) the swimming competition will follow the programme of the Olympic Games with the addition of the Mixed Relay
3) The programmes of Open Water Swimming, Synchronized Swimming and Diving remain as stated in the Invitation by Sport – Pan American Olympic Festival 2014
Due to uncertainty regarding various aspects of the Pan American Olympic Festival the deadline for receipt by PASO of each Federations “Entry By Numbers” has been extended to April 15TH; however, it is essential that you advise UANA and your National Olympic Committee the number of swimmers, open water swimmers, synchronized swimmers and divers (divided by gender), coaches, technical officials and delegation support persons your Federationwishes to enter into the Festival in order that both UANA and your NOC can comply with the “Entry By Numbers” deadline of April 15,2014.
Please advise UANA and your NOC not later than April 11, 2014.
