“LIME” SEA JAYS SWIMMERS SET EIGHT RECORDS AT RHAC MEET

At the recently concluded 14th Annual RHAC International Invitational, the LIME Sea Jays Swim club swimmers managed to break an impressive eight records

Starting with the National Records: Thalia Bergasse set two new National Records in the 1500 Free (19:45.96) and 100M Back (1:09.85) to comfortably outpace the competition

Four of “LIME” Sea Jays rising stars who are also under the tutelage of Coaches Brian Charles and Norm Banfield, beat the previous Male 800M Free record.  Ethan Dyke-Elliott, Jamaar Archibald, Jayhan Odlum-Smith and Nial Bergasse all posted times better than the old mark but the final record of 10:21.92 was established by Mark Emanus. The four youngsters swim in the 11-12 age group so will be eyeing that benchmark in the near future

Seven  Age Group National Records were set by LIME Sea Jays  Swimmers; Thalia’s 1500M Free and 100 back, Veronica Brown 1500M Free, Sunshine Mauricette 200M Fly, Ethan Dyke Elliott 1500M Free & 800M Free & Terell Monplaisir 200M Breaststroke. The coaches were pleased with so many records broken in one meet and expected to have more broken once the swimmers keep training hard

In regards to the club records, there were 23 new records set. Girls 15 & over Thalia Bergasse  1500M Free, 100M Back, 200M Free, 50M Back; Girls 11-12 Veronica Brown 1500M Free; Boys 11-12 Ethan 1500M free, 800M Free, 50M Free, 200M Free & 400M Free;  Terell Monplaisir 50M Back, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Breaststroke, 200M Breaststroke and 200 IM; Jayhan Odlum Smith 50M Fly and Boys 13-14 Haydn Felix with  50M Free, 100M Free, 200M Free, 100M Back, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Breaststroke 200M Breaststroke and 200 IM

Ethan Dyke-Elliott and Terell Monplaisir  had seven double AA’s time and Jayhan Odlum-Smith had one double AA,

Top 3 swimmers with most time taken off an individual event; Jamaar Archibald 299.14 seconds off his 1500 Free, 2nd Veronica Brown 114.23 seconds off her 1500 Free and Rhianna Dalsou 105.18 seconds off her 200 Free and honourable mention to Angelina Habib 91.86 seconds off her 200 Free.

The only swimmer with time taken off all events was Haydn Felix. Three other swimmers took time off all events except one they are Sunshine Mauricette,, Jamaar Archibald & Abigail Brown .
