Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia - August 15 - The USA Women's National Team breezed into the semifinals of the FINA World Cup with a 24-0 defeat of Singapore in the quarterfinal round.
Kami Craig (Santa Barbara, CA/USC/SBWPF) scored five goals to lead the offensive parade while
Sami Hill (Santa Barbara, CA/UCLA/SBWPF) and
Ashleigh Johnson (Miami, FL/Princeton/Gulliver Riptides) combined for 10 saves in the shutout. Team USA advances to the semifinal round where they will meet China on Saturday at 5am pst.

The win over Singapore was never in doubt as the United States raced out to an 8-0 lead after the first period and a 15-0 lead at halftime. They kept up the attack in the third quarter with five more goals and then another four in the fourth to close out the match 24-0. Team USA went 5/6 on power plays and 1/1 on penalty shots while Singapore did not draw any exclusions or penalties. Kaleigh Gilchrist (Newport Beach, CA/USC/Trojan) bolstered the scoring attack with four goals of her own with 10 total field players contributing.
