Hello all,

Thank you all for the amazing response to our ticket program! We had requests for more than 75,000 tickets in just 48 hours after opening our ticketing portal at TORONTO2015.org/tickets on September 15. That’s 26 tickets a minute!

This three-week window (known as our early access period) is the time to stake your claim to the best tickets for the hottest Pan Am events — but it closes on Monday, October 6. Tickets start at $20.

For great information on the 36 sports, the schedule and prices, check out our brand-new Ticket Program Guide.

Get in the Games!

One of the top questions I receive when I go out and talk to people is: “How can I get involved in the Games?”

Here are my top suggestions:

Volunteer! We need people just like YOU to make these Games great in all of our municipalities hosting competitions or training. More than 30,000 people have applied so far but we need YOU, too! It takes about 20 minutes to apply at TORONTO2015.org/volunteer.

Be a torchbearer! On October 1, we’ll announce the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Torch Relay route and we’ll be inviting Canadians to apply to be torchbearers. Stay tuned for more details closer to the date!

Join the TORONTO 2015 Youth Summit! In less than a year, the Games will be the spark to start an international discussion for youth by youth on how to build our communities through sport. We’re looking for more than 300 Ontarians aged 16-24 to participate from March 21 to 22, 2015. Get inspired by our latest video and apply by October 10 at TORONTO2015.org/youth-summit

World’s Best Junior Female Golfers Coming to Markham!

The Angus Glen Golf Club is set to make history when it hosts the inaugural 2014 World Junior Girls’ Golf Championship. The championship is one of 45+ sport test events TO2015 is helping bring to Ontario ahead of the Games.

Brooke Henderson, Grace St-Germain, Naomi Ko, Jaclyn Lee, Selena Costabile and Alisha Lau will represent Team Canada at the event, which starts Friday, September 26 and runs until Wednesday, October 1.

Henderson, 17, of Smith Falls, ON, is currently ranked the No. 1 female amateur golfer in the world!

The championship will feature three-player teams of athletes under the age of 19 representing 15 countries. As host, Canada is able to send two teams.

Games Trivia

This week’s question: What sport will make its Pan Am debut in Markham?

And for last week’s answer: Football 7-a-side made its Paralympic debut in 1984.
