2023 Swim-a-thon Fundraising Info

Hello swim families-
The CAST Swim-a-thon fundraiser is starting today!! Coaches are sending packets home from practice with your swimmer(s). Donations can be made of a set amount, or on a per lap basis. Please be sure to ask your friends and family- every little bit adds up!! All swimmers will be grouped into their family units this year. Laps of all participating swimmers per “family unit” will be added together, so if someone is sponsoring on a per-lap basis, please make them aware! I have attached a Fundraising help letter and the sponsorship grid if you need to print additional copies. Payments accepted are cash or check only. Checks may be written payable to CAST.
Ideally each “family unit” will raise $150 toward this season’s fundraiser!
Thursday, February 9th is the day set for lap swimming for your individual swim groups’ goals! I just wanted to reach out so that you have all the info!
- What: Lap Swims for Swim-a-thon Fundraiser
- When: February 9th, 2023 from 4pm - 6pm
- What if your swimmer cannot make that date?
- We understand that there is so much going on this time of year- If you cannot make this date, please bring your packet to any practice Feb 6th - Feb 8th and ask a coaching staff member to count for you!! Simple, but please make sure that all swims are completed early, so you can collect any PER LAP donations in time!!
- Where: at the Rec Center instead of practice
- How: Coaches and adults will be counting laps for each swimmer instead of a regular practice. Please make sure that all donations are written down so that you can go back for collections.
- Goals: The coaching staff has given a goal based on the swimmer’s level. If a swimmer wants to swim further, the coaches have included a “Stretch Goal” - the max laps a swimmer may reach based on their group. No one needs to reach exhaustion!! Please see their individual goals on the Swim-a-thon envelope.
One more thing!: There will be a team dinner set up in the community room. We hope that every swimmer and any additional family members stop in throughout the night. Please feel free to come in before or after your swims and enjoy some great food with other families!! Special Thanks to all of the parents that are coordinating the food!
What comes next?
February 15th & 16th - Collections and Packet Turn In: Packet/Envelope collections will take place at practice on Feb 15th & 16th. If you are unable to make one of these evenings’ practices, please send envelopes with you swimmer and give to the coaching staff any prior. Please make sure that all donations are accounted for on/in your envelope.
End of Season Party – Date TBD: The leadership is currently planning for this event to include the Swim-a-thon Award distribution!
Awards for our Raisers
Goal-Met Raffle: All participants that met the family-unit goal will go into a raffle for 1 of 2 $25 Amazon gift cards
and…
Highest Raiser: The family unit with the highest fundraising total will recieve a $50 Amazon Gift Card!
Finally, as a non-profit organization, the monthly dues that we charge our families are only part of the money required to cover all of the operational costs our team sees each year. Additional funds are used as a part of our growing commitment to community support. Our club is so thankful to all the parents and swimmers coming together to support our club this season with this Swim-a-thon!
