Our coaches are USAG members and safety certified.  With over 50 years of gymnastics experience, our coaches offer quality instruction to gymnasts of all ages.

Debbie Russell

Debbie is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a degree in physical education, health and coaching, which she keeps current and up to date. She has also competed at the collegiate level from 1978 - 1982 on the Women's Gymnastics team, holding titles at the All-Conference status, state balance beam champion, a four-time member of the University state championship team as well as the 1980 National Championship Team and National All-American.

With over 25 years of experience instructing and coaching children through adolescents, Debbie has also been involved in directing and founding the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh preschool program. She has coached Level 4 teams to two state championships as well.

Coach Debbie is a member of USA Gymnastics, USAG Safety Certified, co-owner/operator of Russell Gymnastics.

Dave Russell

Dave is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh with a degree in Physical Education, Health, Coaching, and Art. He is an accomplished gymnast, achieving Wisconsin State High School Champion status as well as being a National High School All-American.

Dave is a four-time National Championship Team Member, a three-time National Parallel Bar Champion and a five-time collegiate All American. He is a member of the 2006 University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh Hall of Fame and will be named to the WIAC "Team of the Century" on August 4th, 2012 during Wisconsin's Centennial Celebration, being only one of 12 athletes to achieve this honor, nine of which are from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh under the coaching expertise of Ken Allen.

Dave has been honored to coach numerous state and regional champions as well as Junior Olympic National qualifiers and Junior Olympic National team members. He loves kids; 4 kids!

Dusti Russell

Dusti is one of Dave and Debbie's four children. She grew up in the gym, and competed in gymnastics her whole childhood. After high school, Dusti competed as an NCAA Division 1 gymnast for the University of Minnesota.

Ian Schiessl

I’m Coach Ian Schiessl, I grew up in Oshkosh Wisconsin. I did gymnastics as a kid and played varsity baseball at Oshkosh west high. I began coaching gymnastics in 2008 with Dave and Debbie Russell. I am a USAG Safety Certified Professional and I have attended multiple Gymnastics’ Congresses, learning from some of the top coaches in the nation. I have coached at regional and state competitions. Gymnastics and coaching is my passion and I love teaching kids as well as seeing them accomplish their goals.

Dave and Debbie have been married 38 years and have 4 children, all who have developed a love and passion for the sport of gymnastics!
