SPDY Update
12/10/2025
Happy Snow Day SPDY families! Below are a few quick updates.
No Practices This Friday!! Due to travel to the Door County Meet and coaches schedules, we will not have any practices this Friday.
Apparel is in! I will be picking up the SPDY apparel order from MADA this afternoon and have it available on the pool deck starting tonight. If you designated your order as a gift, we will need to set up a process for handing it out. We will seperate out those orders, please reach out to me to organize the pick-up.
Holiday Break Practice Schedule:
December 22-23: Normal practice for all groups.
December 24-25: No practices
December 26: Senior/Senior Elite 8:00-10:00AM
December 29-30: Normal practice for all groups
December 31: Senior/Senior Elite 8:00-10:00AM
January 1: Family New Year Swim (more info to come) 10:00am-Noon
January 2: Normal Practice
Team Shirt pick-up: If your swimmer was registered before mid-October and they did not swim the home meet, their team shirt is on the pool deck. Please have your swimmer check in with a coach after practice to pick it up. We did hear that some kids grabbed the wrong size shirt (i.e. grabbed a youth large instead of an adult). If that happened, please bring back the wrong size so we can exchange it. We did order extra shirts, so hopefully everyone can get one.
Meet Sign-up: Don't lose sight of a couple upcoming meet registration deadlines. The La Crosse and Chippewa Valley meets are available to register for and the deadline is approaching. These are both terrific meets for all levels of SPDY swimmers.
Winter Meet Travel: It seems fitting to bring this up today. Every year we tend to deal with a meet or two that weather does not cooperate with our travel schedule. Meets tend to never cancel due to inclement winter weather. It is up to your family to decide your comfort level in traveling to a meet. Much like sick athletes that need to pull out, host teams will not refund entry fees to families that choose to not travel to a meet. If you decide it is safer to stay home, it is best to email me ([email protected]) your intentions.
Have a great rest of your week and best of luck to our swimmers participating in the Door County Jingle Bell Meet on Saturday!
Coach Eric
