Hi Swim Families,

I would like to introduce you to the first weekly email of the Sheboygan Chinooks Swim Team.  As a coach AND a parent of this swim team, I know how much information gets thrown at you and lost in the shuffle of busy lives.  There will be some weeks where we have A LOT of information and some weeks where it's a repeat (always welcome for me) and reminders.  This week's email will be full of information.  Here we go.....

This Saturday, December 20:   Practice for 8 & unders only.  Brayden will be on deck ready to start at 8am-9:30am.

Deadline approaching:  Manitowoc Snowflake Meet is January 2-3. The deadline to sign up on Team Unify is December 21 st.  If you have already signed up, please check your entries as there were some issues with the original file.  It is not too late to make changes to your swimmer's events.

Holiday Schedule: December 22 - Normal Practice for all

        December 23, 24,25 - No Practice

        December 26 - Practice optional.  The Y will be open regular business hours.  The workout will be posted all day for swimmers to come and go.  If you want to come while Brayden will be on deck, he will be at the Y from 4pm-6pm.

        December 29,30 - Normal Practice for all

        December 31 - A workout will be posted, no coach will be on deck.  The Y will be open 5am-3:30pm

        January 1 - The Y will be closed.

        January 2 - Back to normal practices

Apparel Orders:   Due by December 23 at midnight!

Swim Cap Orders:  If you ordered personalized caps, they are on their way.  An email and Facebook message will be posted when they are available to pick up.  

Swim Caps:  We still have non personalized caps available for sale @ $8/cap.  Please pay at the front desk and bring a receipt to Coach Cortney for a cap.   

Picture DAY is January 19.   We will NOT be having practice this day.  We will only be taking individual and team pics.  Order forms will be put in mailboxes soon.  We'll let you know when they're available to pick up.  This year we are requesting everyone have a  PLAIN BLACK suit for pictures.  This could be a great Christmas present if your swimmer needs one.  Time for pictures will be announced.

For all swimmers 9 and up:   We have started doing 3 simple exercises on the pool deck before every practice.  Please ask you swimmer to show you and please encourage them to keep up the great work!

Awards at meets:   Sometimes the coaches are given the whole team's awards and some meets expect the swim families to pick up awards at the end of their swimming.  We have been bringing awards back to our swimmers but there will not be a coach to do this all the time.  Please, before a meet, read the meet information and know if you need to send you swimmer to get their awards before they leave! 

As you all know, our January 17th meet has been cancelled...  BUT... we will be replacing this meet with a dual meet (or tri meet) with Manitowoc and maybe Green Bay.  This meet will take place on Jan 17 @ Manitowoc.  We are encouraging  ALL swimmers to participate in this opportunity.  This is a fantastic way to get your feet wet (lol) and try a swim meet.  Please keep your eyes open for more information!
