Senior Silver and Gold Update October 21st - 27th
Hello Senior Silver and Gold Swimmers and Parents,
Here are some important updates and reminders as we head into the week of October 21st - 27th.
1. As shared last week, my weekly progression is strategically set up in effort to help our senior swimmers plan and prepare.
- Monday: Heavy Kick / Endurance.
- Tuesday: Speed!
- Wednesday: Pace / Tempo Training.
- Thursday: Drill / Recovery.
- Friday: Race!
- Saturday: Race!
- Sunday: Recovery / Reflect / Plan.
*NOTE: This Wednesday will be Challenge Set #2.
2. Chino Hills Swim Meet 19th & 20th.
- We had some great learning experiences at the Chino Hills Meet this past weekend.
- Some ON swims, some NEW BEST times and some OFF swims.
- Keep in mind the following:
- You WILL NOT achieve a best time every time.
- You WILL learn every time.
- Practice attendance will have a direct impact on results at swim meets.
- How you decide to practice at practice will show up at swim meets. You'll never know unless you go!
- Attitude and Effort outweighs best times, in the moment and for your future.
- I was proud of everyone's Attitude and Effort this weekend.
- Keep in mind the following:
3. Goal Meetings.
- Based on schedules being so dynamic, I have decided that I will be meeting with swimmers at practice this week and beyond.
4. Blue / Black / White Meet Saturday October 26th.
- Rosters have been sent out!
- Your TMEC coaching staff had a great time working together drafting teams.
- A ton of effort and detail went into this unique opportunity for Temecula Swim Club.
- Any updates that come up will be sent out this week.
5. What is up with the motivational attachment?
- My father sent this to me years ago (1991) when I was a freshman swimming at Auburn University.
- I pull this attachment up from time to time in an effort to check in with my Attitude and Effort.
- I challenge Senior Silver and Gold Swimmers to print this attachment out.
- Post it where you can see it every day.
