4.  What is up with the motivational photo attached?

A typical jet engine consists of around 40,000 individual detailed parts.

Explanation: While the exact number can vary depending on the engine size and type, modern jet engines are considered extremely complex and contain thousands of components, often categorized into major modules like the intake, compressor, combustor, turbine, and exhaust.

Large number of individual components:
Each module within a jet engine is made up of numerous smaller parts, contributing to the high overall part count.

Complexity in design:
The intricate design of jet engines requires precise manufacturing and assembly of many different parts.

Maintenance considerations:
Due to the large number of parts, servicing and maintenance of a jet engine can be a complex process

Examples for us to think about:

  • Like a jet engine, think of all the details in just one of your practices / races!
  • Think of the individual components that go into your overall practice / race. How many can you think of?
  • Think of the amazing complexity in the intricate design of being precise in your sport of swimming.
  • Think of the maintenance you require to be the best you can be at every practice and swim meet.

Let's GO!
