Senior Silver and Gold Updates and Reminders for April 7th - 13th

Tripp Montgomery

Hello Senior Silver and Gold Swimmers and Parents,

Here are some updates and reminders as we enter the week of April 7th.

1.  We competed in our first long course meet of the 2025 season in Yucaipa this past weekend.

  • It was a refreshing start to our long course season for all those who were able to attend.
  • I was very impressed with the efforts put forth in an eye opening long course pool.  It is not an easy transition from short course to long course.  You all did a great job!
  • Based on performances, attitudes and efforts this past weekend, it is my opinion that we are off to a really good start for the long course season ahead.

2.  Weekly Training Plan Reminders.

  • Weekly training plans will vary week by week for now.
  • Expect "off yardage".
  • What does this mean?
    • 75's, 125's, 175's, 225's and so on.
    • Off yardage helps prepare for long course while swimming in a short course pool.
  • Coach Jenn has been working hard on securing lane space and pool time for long course training.  Updates regarding long course training schedules will be communicated as they become available.
3.  2025 Fran Crippen Swim Meet Of Champions April 11th - 13th in Irvine California.
  • Congratulations to Amanda Cotton, Maya Cravens, Alex Hernandez, Jon Streeter and Emory Vorndam for qualifying to compete at this high profile meet.
  • How many more can we qualify for next year?  I believe many many more!  Set your goals now and believe, trust and just go!

4.  What is up with the motivational photo attached.

  • We are in a very dynamic time with high school swimming, club swimming and a long course season ahead.  Thank you all for the communication regarding all that is on your calendar.
  • Look at your calendars for the summer season and remember, swimming long course is a huge base builder for other swim seasons ahead.
  • Planning ahead now will help all of us be better for our long course season.
  • Keep up the good work!

Let's GO!
