Senior Silver and Gold Updates and Reminders for May 12th - May 18th
Hello Senior Silver and Gold Swimmers and Parents,
I hope this email finds you well. Here are some important updates and reminders as we head into our long course season.
It's transition time!
1. Group meeting Wednesday May 14th at 6:30pm. I am hopeful we will have 100% attendance. Parents are invited too:
What is this meeting about?
- Let's find ways to be consistent in your long course swim season!
- Among other things, an area we can focus on right off the bat is taking advantage of Dynamic Dryland Training. Building upon your core strength will help your swimming. Another way is to lay out a calendar and see how many practice opportunities you have between now and your long course season goals.
- Practice expectations, meet schedules, individual goals, circuit training, power towers, resistance to assistance, drill work, equipment requirements, long course practice schedule, and the overall exciting season ahead of you.
2. Clinics and Private Lessons:
We have 2 exciting clinics coming up May 31st. Additional information can be found on your TMEC Events page. Please sign up!
- Swimming in College Clinic Saturday May 31st @ MMHS from 9:30-10:30am.
- 100% Start Clinic Saturday May 31st @ MMHS from 11:00-12:00am.
- Interested in 1:1 work, please let me know.
3. Long Course Season Swim Meets:
Please take a look at your TMEC Events page and swim meets we have planned. We will discuss more at our meeting on Wednesday.
4. Four week rotating training plan:
- Why 4 weeks?
- We start Long Course training on June 9th at the Drop Zone.
- Rotating by 7 days.
- More will be shared at our meeting on Wednesday.
5. What is the up with the motivational photo?
- Change is hard. Change is good. Embrace change.
- Transitioning from short course season to swimming to long course season is not easy.
- The good news is that this upcoming long course season will make you better going forward.
- Although it is a very short, long course season, the more consistent you can be during transition time will build the base for you as a swimmer going forward.
Let's GO!
~ Coach Tripp
