A Note From Our CEO

Lauren Nesbitt

Good morning Swim Team Families,

A couple of you have reached out so I wanted to share some important information and our plans moving forward now that Lauren has made the decision to step away from the YMCA.   While we are sad to see her go, we are grateful for the leadership and dedication she brought to our swimmers and our program.  We know change can bring questions, and we want to assure you that we are fully committed to supporting the continued success of our team—both in competition and in the personal development of every swimmer.

In the immediate future Alliscia will be meeting with or current coaches and naming an Interim Head Coach to ensure that we do not lose momentum, to include finishing strong at our 10U meet coming up in a few weeks and starting off our short course season with the same energy and enthusiasm you have come to expect from the Gators.

We will be launching a nation-wide search to find the right person to lead our program.   We will be posting on YUSA, USA Swimming, as well as several others and locally.  Once the job posting is live, we’ll be sure to share it with you—and we encourage you to pass it along to anyone you believe would be a great fit for our team.

Above all, we want to emphasize that the YMCA remains deeply committed to our swim team and its long-standing tradition of excellence.  With your support and input, we are confident this transition will lead us into an exciting new chapter.

Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to connecting with you soon.

Sincerely,
