FYI: Our YMCA Championship Meets in March
FYI: Our YMCA Championship Meets in March
We have started our countdown to our End of Season with Championship Meets.
Our Coaching Staff is getting pumped up for lots of fast and fun swimming so afar.
Why we love Championship Meets: Because, all of our Flying Fish Swimmers, who have been training, will showcase their months of focus, improvements, dedication, and effort at these YMCA Championship Meets. Our coaching staff is so eager to have our FISHES to race it up like they were in the Olympics.
Team Goal is to get as many athletes at these CHAMPIONSHIP Meets.
- During the 2023-24 season, our team only had three swimmers at our “A” SWOYSL Championship.
- Yet, our 2024-25 season, we had 26 swimmers at the SWOYSL “A” Championship and 14 swimmers at SWOYSL “AA” Championship. We hope to increase our numbers again for 2026 Championships.
- Let’s BRING IT ON! A Great 2025-26 Season. Keep Up t our Awesome Training and Racing!
What you need to know as your athlete’s season continues and participating in Y Championship Meets.
First, Your Child who has participated in Three YMCA meets is qualified to represent our Champaign Family YMCA team at Y Championship Meets. If you have any questions, please speak with a coach or any of our veteran swim families. Over half of our swimmers have already achieved THREE Meet requirement.
Our Southwest Ohio Y Swim League aka 'SWOYSL' holds TWO League Championship Weekends due to the sheer number of athletes in our league and sixteen YMCA teams. Our YMCA league is one of the best competitive YMCA leagues in the USA.
For this reason, “A” & “AA”” Meets were established with Qualifying Time Standard format to determine which meet your athlete would represent our CHFY team. The SWOYSL “A” and “AA” Championship meets’ information will be posted on our event page when available.
On the Time Standard Sheet, the “AA” time is the qualifying standard. If your swimmer achieves a time over this season equal to or faster to “AA”, then, their time is eligible for the “AA” meet. If their time is slower than “AA” Qualifying Time, then they would be eligible swim at “A” Meet.
