2023-2024 STURGEONS PRACTICE SCHEDULE (September through mid-August)
The above schedule runs through mid August, 2024. Swim team moves to morning hours in the summer. Summer group assignments are made by the coaches and you will be notified by email in the spring of 2024 of your swimmer’s placement.
All swimmers are required to try out with our swim team in order for our coaches to assess their level and place them with the appropriate group. To schedule a tryout, please contact our Program Office at [email protected].
SENIOR TEAM
Our Senior team is invitation only for ages 13 and up. There are eight practices offered weekly in addition to dryland workouts. Meet attendance is required.
Mondays - Fridays Fri 3:30-5:30pm
Wednesdays 5:15-6:30am
Saturdays 8:00 to 10:30 am
Tuedays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30am Dryland
STATE TEAM
Our state team is ages 10-15 and is invitation only. State team practices six days a week and has two additional dryland workouts. There is continuing focus on stroke development as well as learning how to train. Meet attendance is required.

JUNIOR 3
Our Junior 3 group is our highest developmental group and swims three days per week. Swimmers should be able to swim all four competitive strokes, starts and turns. Focus is on stroke and technique development as well as learning how to train. Meet attendance is required.

JUNIOR 2
Junior 2 swimmers participate two days per week. The focus of this group is improving endurance while continue to work on technique for all four competitive strokes. Starts and turns are a large component of this group and meet attendance is required.

JUNIOR 1
Our Junior 1 is our beginner developmental group. Swimmers should have a basic knowledge of all four competitive strokes and be able to swim a minimum of 25 meters of Freestyle with alternate breathing and 25 meters of Backstroke. Drills and equipment are used to build basic stroke technique for all four competitive strokes. Starts and turns are introduced in this group. Meet attendance is highly encouraged.
