It's official, now, finally. The calendar reads late-October, and that means it's time to have some spooky fun! Halloween is upon us. The day is coming, and everyone is making their plans. Positively Ghoulish. Our LGSC swim team hosted our annual Spooktacular swim meet that celebrates everything ghoulish in the Swimming World, especially our own. Swim paddles are an important part of swim practice for nearly all competitive swimmers. Only the most beginning level swimmers (Green Group) need not use them, but that changes later. Bronze Group swimmers should use paddles, but that is merely suggested. Swimmers in the Silver, Gold and Platinum Groups should absolutely use swim paddles. Swim paddles accomplish 2 things. They improve technique considerably, and, when used judiciously, they also help to strengthen the shoulder, potentially reducing the chances of future shoulder ailments, which can occur in our sport.
