Call them Warriors

At the F lushing Y Distance, the 92 Y Flying Dolphins swam their way to success a morning of long distance events at the first meet of the 2011-2012 season.

The team had a great turnout participating in the 500 yard freestyle or the 1650 yard freestyle were, Claudia Yanos, Jessica Weiss, Emily Weiss, Samuel Stephenson, Blake Jamilkowski, Sophie Siegel, Morgan Shephard,  Teddy Schellback, Dana Schatz, Dylan Porges, Sarah Pinzon, Saphha O’Meara, Maya Milrod, Annie McDermott, Jessica Lipton, Alec Kahn, Amy Hood, Sophie Halper, Ryan Green, Ella Green, Devon French, Emily Fennell, Carly Feinblatt, Natalie Brickman and Molly Brickman.

Senior swimmer, Molly Brickman finished first in 1650 yard freestyle in a time of 18:37.64 with a Senior Mets Qualifying time. Teammates, Sophie Halper, Sophie Siegel, and Jessica Lipton finished behind Molly with second, third and fourth places finishes respectively. Alec Kahn (Boys 11-12), and Emily Fennell (Girls 11-12) both finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with Junior Olympic Qualifying time.

Junior swimmer, Emily Weiss finished first to the wall in a time of 6:50.88 followed by her teammate, Maya Milrod in a second place finish in a time of 6:55.03 in the 10 and under age group both with Silver qualifying times. In the 12 and under age group, Devon French (6:26.43) and Ryan Green (6:30.10) finished third and fourth to the wall in the 500 yard freestyle both with Silver qualifying times.
