Long Beach Snowball Mini Meet Recap
The Flippers team competed in the Long Beach Aquatic Club Snowball Mini Meet, making a big splash in Metro Swimming with their fast times and incredible spirit.
Seven year old Gavin Green led the way, capturing the 7 year old boys high point trophy with wins in the 25 freestyle, 25 backstroke, and 25 breaststroke. Gavin also placed second in the 25 butterfly. Gavin’s times in all four events placed him on the Metro Swimming Top Ten list.
Seven year old Matthew Lipton also had an amazing meet, placing in three events with a fourth place finish in the 25 freestyle, a fifth in the 25 backstroke, and a ninth in the 25 butterfly.
Rounding out the boys races were brothers Eric and Adam Berg. Eight year old Eric was eighth in the 50 freestyle, while six year old Adam was second in the 25 butterfly, fourth in the 25 backstroke and fifth in the 25 freestyle. It was also Adam’s first swim meet.
For the eight year old girls, Tess Radford was eighth in the 25 butterfly and Dani Levine was 11th in the 25 backstroke. In addition, Clair de Saint Phalle wowed the crowd, dropping over 5 seconds off of her personal best time in the 25 breaststroke.
In the seven year old races and competing in her first swim meet, Caroline Carbonetti posted a 10th place finish in 25 butterfly.
Eight year olds Naomi Yanos and Charlotte Carbonetti, and five year old Sophie Abelow all competed in their first swim meet as well. Amazing job!
The 7 year old girls 100 freestyle relay team of Radford, Jaden Sacks, Elle Dorian, and Morgan McKibben placed seventh.
The eight year old girls 100 freestyle relay team of Annie Brown, Naomi Schatz, Levine, and Carbonetti placed ninth.
Coach Laura and Coach CJ are very proud of the amazing dedication and focus everyone displayed at the meet. Great job!
