AGUA MLK JR Meet Recap

The Flying Dolphins were represented by members of the Flippers, Dolphins, Junior, and Senior groups last weekend at Asphalt Greene. There were many highlights and amazing swims from all who attended the meet.

 

On the Flippers team Gavin Green again led the group with best times and Metro Top 10 swims! Gavin had big drops in the 100 IM lowering his time by over 7 seconds and in the 50 Fly dropping nearly 5 seconds! Mathew Lipton had some amazing swims with a 7 second drop in this 50 Free and almost 4 second drop in the 50 Back! Tess Radford had a lifetime best in the 25 Breast lowering her time by over 5 seconds! Morgan McKibben has improved in many of her swims since her last meet with the 25 Fly leading the way with a nearly 5 second drop. There were many more great swims from the Flippers group and many swimmers who did an excellent job for being their first swim meet. Great job Flippers!!!!

 

The Dolphins team produced top times from many of the swimmers; the group had over 70% lifetime best times. Just a few of the standout swims were Athan Yanos dropped 4 seconds in his 50 free and had strong swims in his 200 Free and 100 IM. Maggie Weisblum had a breakout meet with 5 best times including a 14 second drop in the 100 IM and a 6 second drop in the 100 Back! Sarah Van Dyke had another very strong meet with some very good racing dropping 5 seconds in her 100 Breast and two more best times. David Porges was another strong racer at the meet with 6 best times and a 15 second drop in his 100 IM. Sarah Green swam very hard and it paid off with 3 silvers times and a 5 second drop in her 100 Back. Wai Sze Fong stepped up and did an amazing job racing the competition and had a dropped of over 23 seconds in her 100 Free.

 

Both the Flippers and Dolphins group did very well and Coach Laura and Coach CJ are very proud of everyone who attended and are looking forward to the upcoming meets.

 

The Junior team had a very strong presence at the meet and recorded many top times in of the entire meet. Wilson Nesbit had an AMAZING meet with 7 lifetime best times for a total of 50 seconds dropped! Wilson always made countless silver times and did some strong racing. The group had over 70% best times with many Silvers, JO's, ZQ's, and Metro Top 10 swims.

 

Congratulations to all of the swimmers who competed this weekend at the AGUA MLK Meet. We are so proud of your hard work and it really paid off in your races this weekend. Keep it up!
