YFD Swimmers shine at the NCAA Format Senior Meet
The last tune-up prelim/final meet before the championships was a very good measure where the team stands, with some impressive swims that give us high hopes to end the short course season with a bang.
Day 1: Sophie Halper competed in the 1650 Freestyle dropping a total of 64 seconds and achieving her first Speedo Super Sectional cut with a time of 17:47.50 and finishing in an impressive 6th place over all. Her time is currently ranked TOP 20 in the nation for 13 year olds. Congratulations Sophie!
Day 2: Molly Brickman led the group with a lifetime best and a Speedo Super Sectional Cut in the 500 Freestyle with an impressive time of 5:06.50 and earned her a second swim in Final B. Sophie Siegel (lifetime best in 200 back 2:12.56), Carly Fried (lifetime best in 100 breast 1:10.25), Jessica Weiss (lifetime best in 100 breast 1:14.23), Sappha O’meara (season best time in 100 breast 1:13.94), Sophie Halper (lifetime best in 500 free 5:16.25), Jessica Lipton had an amazing 200 fly dropping 2 seconds and achieving her first Senior Mets cut 2:17.67
Day 3: Once again Molly Brickman leads the group with a forth place finish in the 200 Freestyle in a time of 1:54.91 and earned a second swim in Final A finishing forth again in the 200 Meter with a time of 2:12.50. We have left 26 days to Senior Mets Championships and 46 days to Junior Olympic Championships.
